❯App privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026.
▍ what this policy covers
The OVERMAN mobile app for iPhone and Android. You can use it in two ways: as a client, linked to your coach with the private link or QR code they give you, or on your own with an OVERMAN Solo account you create in the app. Coach accounts on the web platform are covered by the platform privacy policy.
▍ if your coach linked you: no account
Linking with your coach's link needs no registration, email or password. The link token is your credential. It is kept in your device's secure storage and sent only to the OVERMAN server.
▍ if you use an OVERMAN Solo account
Creating a Solo account in the app asks for your name, email address, date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older) and a password. The server stores a salted hash of the password, never the password itself. Your email is used to sign you in and to send account emails such as password resets, never for marketing.
You can delete a Solo account at any time from the app's settings (you confirm with your password). Deletion erases the account and everything it owns, immediately and permanently. Residual copies age out of encrypted backups on the normal rotation.
▍ what you log
Everything you enter (workouts, check-ins with weight, measurements, progress photos and notes, habits, nutrition, and messages) is stored on the OVERMAN server so you can see it in the app and on the web. If you are coached, your coach sees it too: that is the service. A Solo account's log is seen by nobody else.
▍ apple health (optional)
On iPhone you can connect Apple Health in the app's settings. It is off by default. When you turn it on, iOS asks which categories to share; the app reads only daily summaries of steps, active energy, sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body weight and body fat, and sends them to the OVERMAN server with the rest of your log (and to your coach's view, if you have a coach). The app never writes to Apple Health. Health data is used only to show you (and your coach) your own training: never for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with any other third party. Turn the sync off in settings or revoke access in iOS Settings at any time.
▍ camera and photos
The camera is used to scan your coach's QR code (processed on the device, never stored) and, if you choose, to take progress photos for a check-in, which are uploaded to the OVERMAN server as part of your log.
▍ notifications
Rest-timer alarms and check-in reminders are scheduled on your device. If you allow notifications, the app also registers a push token with the OVERMAN server so it can send a rest-timer backup alert and, if you are coached, an alert when your coach messages you. Those alerts are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple or Google's notification service, and a coach-message alert includes the start of the message. Turn notifications off in the app's settings or your phone's settings at any time.
▍ what the app does not do
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs, no fingerprinting, and no data sold or shared for advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
▍ where your data lives
On a single self-hosted server, in a local database, with encrypted off-site backups. If you are coached and your coach uses the platform's optional AI-assisted features, relevant excerpts of your log are sent to Anthropic's API to produce the result and are subject to their API data handling, only when your coach runs it. Solo accounts have no AI features.
▍ age
OVERMAN is for adults. Solo accounts require you to confirm you are 18 or older, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
▍ contact
Coached clients: your coach, or the operator of the server your link points at. Solo accounts and anything else: the operator of overmancoaching.com.
